RealDex is an AI-powered wildlife collection app that turns a photograph of a real animal into a collectible card. A detector finds the animal in frame, then FieldNet 1 — an in-house MobileNetV4 classifier, shipped int8 — names the species from 5,077 classes. Both run on the device, so identification works with no signal: the app checks the on-device model before it checks the network.

Photos leave the phone only for Cloud AI, an optional second opinion from Google Gemini that is off unless the user asks for it. A further 9,999 species are searchable by hand for manual identification.

The collection goal is a field guide of 1,038 taxonomic families. Catches are pinned to where they were found, stamped with IUCN Red List conservation status, and tracked against a 98-entry Field Record of Grand Honors, Honors and Field Marks. City Territorybuilds a fixed roster from the real administrative boundary of the player's city. Storage is local-only SQLite, with no account required.
